PS3 Eh...Rules
Now before you comment on this, please read the entire article. I know the first thing some fans of their favorite console would say is, "its on a playstation website, don't bother" or "playstation website bias." Please read the entire piece before commenting on it.
Now, there have been multiple lawsuits towards Microsoft and their X box 360. From RROD to disk scratching. It seems like the XBox 360 has had every major problem that the PS1, PS2, Dreamcast, and Gamecube had. Disk read errors, faulty hardware etc. In my eyes I see this as a very bad thing. I will agree with most of you that as of right now, the X box 360 has the better gaming library and better online experience, but it has some questionable hardware. I have read comments on where as of today people are still receiving RROD. The thing that upsets me the most is some of you just don't care and end up purchasing a second or third Xbox 360. Or end up having your seventh or eighth Xbox 360 sent to you just to have that fail on you.
Its been proven multiple times that Microsoft themselves knew about the faulty hardware. MS Knew About 360 Defects Before Launch and Inside Source Reveal the Truth About Xbox 360 "Red Ring of Death" Failures. Now today, its been reported that Microsoft also knew about the disk scratching error before the system was launched. Unsealed docs suggest Microsoft knew about 360's disc scratching. I understand that the Xbox 360 has some great games on their systems, but why after all these reporting, and after your system failed on you more than three times, would continue to support Microsoft and the XBox 360?
I am a Huge Socom Fan. I love that game to death. But if these issues were on the Playstation 3 and i had my PS3 fail on me three times. That would be it for me. I would stop supporting that system until maybe the next generation. Now I know some of you are thinking why did I decide to write this. Well I'll tell you. Its not because I'm in love with me PS3. Its not because I prefer the PS3 over the XBox 360. Its because i purchased a Xbox 360 and had it red ring on me.
As a Christmas present, I decided to purchase a XBox 360 for my younger brother. After so many times of trying to convince him that the PS3 was a better choice, he still wanted the XBox 360. So I bought the system and gave it to him as a early Christmas present. So first day, we are setting the system up. Upgraded to NXE and everything. It was all fine. We are both playing Gears 2 on Co-op having a good time. Mind you, knowing about all the issues the XBox has, I was very cautious with the system. It was in a well Ventilated area. Was not in the way of anyone bumping it.
So for the first day the system was fine. The very next day, i received a call from my brother saying "the 360 does not work." So I say "whats wrong with it." He tells me "the system has red lights on it." I was so angry at that moment that i wanted to scream. How can a day old system malfunction like that? He was also angry and wanted to take the system back. When we arrived at Best Buy, we had a discussion. I was not about to make my brother go through multiple XBox 360s. So we both agree and exchanged it for a Playstation 3.
SO for everyone getting ready to call me a PS3 fanboy or xbox 360 hater, bite you tongue because i bought a system i said i was never going to buy. Wake up gaming community. Stop supporting this faulty hardware.

Re: PS3 Eh...Rules
I have to agree...The Xbox 360 has had a bad reputation with RROD and Disk Errors...but that won't stop buyers from purchasing the Xbox....I'm not a big fan of the PS3 myself because of the SIXAXIS (like wtf??) and there would be only a few games that I would purchase (MGS4, LBP) but Xbox DOES have a good library of games (Halo 3, Gears Of War, Fable II and Blue Dragon)....hopefully this whole "RROD" crap will be sorted when M$ will be releasing the "Julius Chip" into all the new consoles...The question that I will leave is...
When "Julius Chip" is installed...what problems WILL occur???
When "Julius Chip" is installed...what problems WILL occur???
Six axis Controller
You dont have to use six axis all the time you do no that?

Re: PS3 Eh...Rules
But PS3 has no gaems.
The first 360's were indeed faulty as hell, but the newer one's break a lot less.
Sounds a lot like the PS2, there was always news of the early ones breaking (happened to me), exploding, getting disks stuck in and failing to play DVDs. But if we stopped supporting that faulty hardware, then your current favourite console proably wouldn't exist now.

Re: PS3 Eh...Rules
I'm agreeing with you Gurbural, The 360 might have had their problems.
There is a couple of exclusives that I may wanna play on the PS3 but no...360 all the way

Re: PS3 Eh...Rules
Another plus for the 360 is that games tend to run better/smother, have better graphics and tend to have less bugs.

Well i have ps3 and 360 and i must say i was impressed by the ps3.The store is alrite,Home is a waste of space. The main menu ps3 home thing is like the psp and easy to use. Some exculsives are good for eg MGS4,K2,LBP and some upcoming games....GOW3,Infamous etc.But i will have to go with the 360.Better games, better online sure it costs but meh its worth it in the end
