Sony survey hints PSP 2 features(CVG 15/1/09)
Sony has apparently launched a survey quizzing consumers on a list of new PSP feature, possibly in R&D stages for the next PSP.
The most significant of the features mentioned in the quiz, according to reports, include a touch screen, built-in storage space and Bluetooth hardware, and a smaller overall unit size (that retains the PSP large screen size). None are feature's we'd imagine would be added to PSP as add-ons this late in the handheld's life.
Other features mentioned, reports Kotaku, were social networking feature built into the XMB menu, a keyboard for easier web use, and e-comic/book download service, and the ability to detect nearby PSPs for online gaming.
While obviously speculation, if this is indeed a checklist of possible features for the next PSP, the next gen of portable consoles are going to be serious pieces of kit.
Bring it on.

Touch screen, not a bad idea, but it will just end up looking 'desperate' trying to copy the DS.
Built in storage would be nice, but Sony seems to think storage is worth a fortune.
Smaller over all size? WTF good precisely is being smaller going to bring. Is plastic that expensive in Japan?
I'd like to see how they plan to make it smaller AND put a keyboard on it.
Currently the PSP is getting owned by the DS, but they could make more worth having.
I think turning it into a genuine mini computer might be nice. But we've already seen how little profit Sony makes on their ultra powerful PS3.
I think Sony should just ditch the penis contest and get over it. They won the format war (Blueray), lost the console war (Wii is clearly the only thing making a lot of money), and their PSP has no real chance of competing with the DS in the hand held business.
They make a fine TV though.
