2009 line-up "looking a bit dry" - Molyneux (CVG 5/1/09)
Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux has expressed his disappointment with the 2009 games line-up, stating that this year's release list is "looking a bit dry".
Speaking on the BBC, the Fable man revealed that there are no games set for release in 2009 that he's looking forward to.
"Next year, well, it's all looking a bit dry," he said. "All the triple A titles came out this Christmas and while there is stuff in 2010 we can look forward to, off the top of my head I cannot think of anything next year that really excites me.
"Everyone says games are good value for home entertainment, despite the relatively high price. I'm not so sure. I think we're going to see a lot of price pressure put on games."
As for 2008, Molyneux thinks that the Wii had a stellar year, followed by the Xbox 360 (which "did well") and unexpectedly he puts the PS3 in last place. "PlayStation 3 has been disappointing to say the least," claims the Microsoft Games Studio man.
And as for Lionhead, "now we've got Fable II out of the door we can focus on our other project - it's super secret for now - but we might announce it next year," says Molyneux. We know he'll tease it at least four times, at the very least.
