Tutorial of Posting Games World

As you are in Games World you will be using different tools such as...different colours...SIZES!!!...and Spoilers.

This is a handy Tutorial on how to use tools when posting on Games World

We shall start with the basics.

1. Starting on the top line is the basic *B* *I* *U* *S*

B = Bold. To type in bold writing type

Code:: [b] TEXT HERE [/b]

This will give you TEXT HERE

I = Italics. To type in italics type

Code:: [i] TEXT HERE [/i]

This will give you TEXT HERE

U = Underline. To type in underline type

Code:: [u] TEXT HERE [/u]

This will give you TEXT HERE

S = Strike. To type with a strike type

Code:: [strike] TEXT HERE [/strike]

This will give you ~~TEXT HERE~~

2. Next is the "Align Text" Buttons

Left

To make your text align to the left type

Code:: [left] This text should be aligned to the left [/left]

This will align your text to the left like so

Center

To make your text align to the center type

Code:: [center] This text should be in the center [/center]

This will center your text like so

Right

To make your text align to the right type

Code:: [right] This text should be on the right [/right]

This will align your text to the right

3. Adding Color to the text

So you want to add a bit of colour to your posts...its really simple...All you do is type

Code:: [color="COLOR HERE"] TEXT HERE [/color]

for red...type

Code:: [color=red] ENTER TEXT HERE[/color]

and you will get ENTER TEXT HERE

4. Text Size
To change the size of the text type

Code:: [size=SIZE OF WRITING] ENTER TEXT HERE [/size]

eg.
HUGE TEXT

5. Quoting

So someone posts something either here or on another site..you can quote people.
To do this type

Code:: [quote="NAME"] (Include Quotation Marks) TEXT HERE[/quote]

eg.

or if you wanna quote WITHOUT a name type

Code:: [quote]TEXT HERE[/quote]

eg.

Welcome to Games World

6. Linking

This is the fun part of the site..linking

If you have pictures or a website to share from a site or a photo sharing service (eg. PhotoBucket, ImageShack etc) then this is how

To link a site

Code:: [url]http://tr.im/gamesworld[/url] or [url=http://tr.im/gamesworld]Games World[/url]

for a image type

Code:: [img]LINK TO PHOTO[/img]

for a YouTube Video type

Code:: [youtube]YOUTUBE LINK[/youtube]

7. Miscellaneous

To add "Spoilers" (Part of a story from a game, film, or book) type

Code:: [spoiler]ENTER TEXT HERE[/spoiler]

It will look like this

1. Flood Control

To stop mad posting within the site, we have put a timer limit between two posts.
You must wait 10 seconds between posting before posting again!!
Note: This does not apply to Admins, Global Mods or Mods!!!

2. Multi-Quote

If you want to quote two messages at once...click the "+Multi-Quote" (as shown below) button before hitting the "Reply" to quote both messages (or even more if you desire) and add your own message.

You can keep the quotes that you selected on the topic while you move to another page in the topic

eg. You selected "post #3" and "post #11" but #11 was on Pg.2 of the thread...Well, #3 will be kept until you hit the reply button.

If you want to DE-select the multi-quote..just hit the "-Multi-Quote" button.

3. Point System

How are points calculated?

* Points generated by the number of posts
* Points generated by the number of topics created
* Points generated by the number of friends that the user has
* Reputation points
* Points generated by the registration date of the member
* Points generated by the number of message on his profile

Everyone is starting from zero(0) and you shall build up your points...via the points above

You will gain 1 point for every message that you post.
You will gain 3 points for every topic that you start.
You will gain 1 point for every message that you recieve to your personal profile
You will gain 2 points for every friend that adds (or you add ) to your profile.

---REPUTATION & THANKS---

On every message you will see a "+" and a "-" on people's messages (Its on the top-right of their posts)
If you like the content of the message...click the "+" and if you didn't...click the "-"

You will gain 1 point for every "positive" message
You will lose 1 point for every "negative" message
You will gain 3 points when the "Thanks" button is clicked on your message

Note: You cannot rank your posts and says "thanks" to your self (That'll look weird)
