Chinatown Wars misses chart top five (CVG 23/3/09)
Resident Evil 5 retained the top spot in the UK all formats chart during the week ended March 21, while Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars and MadWorld made somewhat disappointing debuts.
Weekly sales of the latest Resident Evil title were down 52 percent but the game still managed to outsell its nearest competitor, Wii Fit, 2.7 to 1.
DS-only Professor Layton jumped one place to third, followed by the week's highest new entry, WWE Legends of Wrestlemania, which saw sales split fairly evenly across PS3 and 360.
Flight sim Hawx took fifth place ahead of DS exclusive Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, which managed only around half of the launch week sales achieved by the previous handheld GTA title, Vice City Stories on PSP. That's a crime right there - it's awesome.
Street Fighter IV punched its way back into the top ten in seventh, one spot in front of Brain Training, while FIFA 09 and Call of Duty: World at War rounded off the top ten.
Sega's Wii-exclusive MadWorld could only scrape No34 on its first chart showing, behind fellow new entries Singstar Queen at No22 and Scrabble Interactive: 2009 at No27.
