Final Fantasy Versus XIII Site Opens Today (Kotaku 9/1/09)

It's not just Final Fantasy XIII that is just getting a site with new stuff, but also Final Fantasy Versus XIII — minus the new stuff.

The FFVXIII site is barebones — things like it's release date and rating are still TBA. That screen grab is pretty much it! Still, if you are interested in the game, you might want to bookmark the site. You are interested in the game, no? Final Fantasy XIII or Final Fantasy Versus XIII? That is the question.

The serious information drought for Final Fantasy XIII must be killing fans, but the silence has been broken with a few nuggets of info, following from the first proper in-game shots last week.

According to translations of a recent Famitsu write-up, the leading female character in the game is called Dia Walruva. No other details were given for her, though.


More importantly, Famitsu reports that the battle system have been streamlined to that the transition from explorative gameplay to a battle is seamless and unnoticeable.

You see enemies wandering around, and you enter battle with them as you approach, taking on the same number of enemies you saw in explorative gameplay, according to translations.

No word on a release though, the game still down for a vague 2009 in Japan, which means we probably won't see an English version for donkeys.
