I reckon 2, 3 and Sonic Adventure 2 are the best sonic games. The damn Knuckles levels almost ruined SA2 though... Sad

Also, moving this to the Sega section.

in my opinion, 3d killed sonic for me. it seems more impossible for sonic to STAY ON THE GROUND or even to control him.
the fact that sega did not bring TOTAL 3d sonic to nintendo ds pleases me. Smile
sonic belongs in 2 dimensions or 2.5, because in 3 dimensions, he suxxs. and no amount of blurry effects and top notch graphics will change my mind >.<
